Gillot 170 is small, flexible nib. Perfect for Copperplate (small and medium letters) and drawing. The Gillott 170 nib is smaller than the Gillott 404 and 303 nibs. The Gillott 1950 is a pointed, medium flexible nib. Suitable for drawing. It fits, among others for standard holders (with four serrations), slanted Speedball holders, Tachikawa T-25 drawing holders. Length : 2.9 cm. Width : top (3 mm) bottom (5 mm)
The Gillott 290 is a small, ultra-thin, flexible and very soft nib. Suitable for drawing lowercase letters. Due to its delicacy, it can be easily damaged. Length : 2.6 cm. Width : 5 mm
The Gillott 404 is a moderately flexible nib . Suitable for Copperplate style - for medium letters - and for drawing. Harder and more durable than the 303 and 170 and more pleasant to use. The Joseph Gillott mapping pen consists of a reversible plastic pen holder and a 659 nib. The nib is additionally mounted in a retractable handle, so you can hide it after work. The 659 nib is fine and flexible giving fine and wide lines depending on the pressure, it is stiffer than 850 or 2788. It is used for accurate and detailed drawing where a fine line is needed. Ideal for copperplate scribes and most mapping and drawing work. After finishing work, wash it in very warm soapy water and dry it thoroughly before using it again.
